Last summer during an intense summer storm, my grandson Samuel at 4 years old surprised me with an expression when he saw a magnificent lightning bolt flash nearby. He exclaimed, “Did you see that? The sky just cracked!” It was a great description as the crack in the sky appeared in a bright, sudden moment to the eyes of a young boy. He was frightened as if the sky was about to break open.
The secular world likes to use the expression ‘when all hell breaks loose’. My tendency has always been to look at things in the opposite direction. What will happen when ‘all Heaven breaks loose’?" Well, guess what? It already has. It happened in the town of Bethlehem in a manger. This breaking loose of Heaven was predicted by the prophet Micah more than 800 years ago prior to this happening. In Micah 5:2, it says, “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me One who will rule over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” (just for clarification, Bethlehem Ephrathah is a biblically-referenced former name of Bethlehem)
There in the town of Bethlehem on that first Christmas, Mary had a little lamb . . . the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Did you know that in Hebrew Bethlehem means house of bread? It is just like our God to send His Son, a.k.a. the Bread of Life to be born in a town whose name means house of bread. For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 Jesus made a Way for us to get to Heaven by dying on the cross. All Heaven broke loose when God sent His Son from Heaven. God expressed His Infinite love for us that day. This is the same God that wept when Lazarus had died, even though He knew He was about to raise Lazarus from the dead.
During His ministry on earth Jesus called Himself the Bread of Life. Jesus said it plainly: “For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from Heaven and gives life to the world. Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:32-33, 35
This sounds like we have received some simple instructions from God and Jesus:
1. Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (God)
2. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry. (Jesus)
3. Whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty. (Jesus)
Just prior to the crucifixion, He had told His apostles that He was going to prepare a place (Heaven) so they could follow Him there. The apostles did not want to see Him leave. They told Him they did not know how to follow Him where He was going. Jesus answered, “I am the Way, the truth, and the life, no one comes the Father except through Me”. (John 14:6) After Jesus died on the cross and arose from the dead, He spent a short while on Earth with His apostles. Jesus left the earth in front of His apostles and ascended into Heaven where He still sits at the right hand of the Father. He told us in John 12:32, “And I when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” Sounds to me like He broke through Heaven’s gate after He conquered death and subsequently ascended into Heaven. Can you imagine the celebration there was in Heaven when Jesus returned? I’m sure it sounded like ALL HEAVEN BROKE LOOSE!
Unfortunately, there are many who profess to believe in Him but are not really filled with Jesus. Many are satisfied with the punching the clock by attending a weekly service. They might even read the Bible occasionally and pray before meals sometimes. It is sometimes difficult to tell the difference between a believer and a non-believer. The world is becoming more and more permissible. Many say they follow Jesus, but do they ever tell anyone about Him. Can people tell by your actions that you are Christian? Are you walking in the flesh or in the Spirit? It’s time to wake up, sleeper because All Heaven is about to break loose.
Heaven will break open soon and “The Lord Himself will come down from Heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first” (1 Thessalonians 4:16)
Here is an excerpt from my third Christian book called Golden Walk: Following Wisdom into Heaven: “When the trumpet call of God sounds in the rapture, those who are ‘born again’ will be taken up to meet the Lord in the air. You do not want to be left behind. Make sure you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior while there is still time. The rapture will happen in the twinkling of an eye. No one will have time to repent or pray or run to church to make things right. You won’t be able to reach you favorite pastor for advice. Besides, any pastor left behind is not worth talking to.”
Statistics show that one out one persons die. No one goes to Heaven or Hell, by accident, they go there because of a deliberate choice. That choice is to accept Jesus or deny Him. He is the only Way to the Father. My hope is this writing will convince someone that Jesus is the only way to get to Heaven. I love the description provided in the book of Micah 2:13, “The One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their King will pass through before them, the LORD at their head.” This is a description of what will happen when all Heaven breaks loose. It will be a glorious day!
My prayer is this writing will increase your Faith or make you just a little more curious about Eternity. Afterall, we are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.
