Jesus fulfilled another promise when he said, “And I, when I am lifted from this earth, will draw all people to myself.” John 12:32 His sacrifice on the cross provides The Way for us to get to Heaven and have life that cannot be destroyed! God has given us a new birth into everlasting life through belief in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.
I read this scripture and the part: “when I am lifted from this earth” can be interpreted in different ways. It could mean when He was lifted on the cross during his crucifixion. The cross being a universal sign of Christianity.
Perhaps it is about us lifting Him up in praise and worship to draw us closer to Him. It could also refer to His resurrection and conquering death. Maybe it is about His ascension into Heaven and Him preparing a place for us there. Heaven is a prepared place for prepared people.
That is why I love to read the Bible because it is alive and active. The Word of God is sharper than any double-edged sword; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of our hearts.
Here’s a few questions? Are you drawn to Him? Do you lift Him up with songs of praise or by my testifying about Jesus?
