“And it was so. God made two great lights …God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:15-16
Have you ever wondered why the moon shines at night? The answer is easy … because God made it that way. Unlike a lamp or our sun, the moon does not produce its own light. Moonlight is actually sunlight that shines on the moon and bounces off. The light reflects off old volcanoes, craters, and lava flows on the moon’s surface. The moon does not shine on its own like the sun, nor can we be a reflection without the Son to separate light from darkness and illuminate the earth. What are you doing TODAY to reflect some ‘Sonlight’ into the dark side of humanity? Our purpose on earth is to separate light from darkness as long as we have breath until the very end.
When I was in the Navy, I used to love to spend time alone on the ship and just lay on the deck and look up at the moon and the stars. I was in awe of the vastness and creation God made for us when He said, “Let there be light.” in Genesis 1:3. From Broken Walk: Searching For Wisdom: Nighttime on a ship is a fantastic experience. Just being able to see countless stars and thinking about God keeping the whole universe under control. Amongst all His planets and stars, He chose the Earth and supplied it with air, water, and food, prior to creating us in His image. God keeps the entire expanding universe in His complete control. Our little solar system seems to be doing a perpetual, synchronized dance. The other planets and moons waltz with the Earth in perfect unison around the sun. Close your eyes for a moment and give God thanks for creating us.
The moon’s surface is actually dark even though it appears very bright when hanging suspended in the night sky. We, as humans, also are dark until we become a New Creation by accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior. Let me explain, from Broken Walk, It all began when God gave Adam and Eve a soul in the Garden of Eden. “Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed life into his nostrils, the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7. We, like Adam, all have a soul. Our problem is: we, like Adam, have used our soul to disobey God throughout our lives. As a result of their disobedience, Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden.
As a result we, like Adam and Eve, are not able to get back into the Garden (Heaven) without belief in Jesus. I use scripture, not my words to shine Light on my point; He Left The Light On. “Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One Man the many will be made righteous.” Romans 5:18-19. The Light shines brightly on this scripture, let it be a river that nourishes the root system of your heart. It is plain to see the one disobedient man is Adam and the Obedient Man is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The offer of Life through Jesus remains for us. Make a bright choice TODAY and separate yourself from the darkness. He Left The Light On!
